Drain Protection

Drain Protection

Drain protection is the most often overlooked requirement of a refuelling installation.

Protecting the site drainage system from the ingress of pollutants is a requirement of the Oil Storage and DSEAR regulations.

If fuel is able to enter the drainage system then it could have significant consequences for the environment and subsequently faces uncapped fines.

The Environment Agency and DEFRA both monitor discharges to water and sewers, and they are able to detect the presence and source of any pollutants.

Protect drainage with drain covers and berms which can be deployed rapidly in the event of spillage or containment loss.
